Technology

According to the comparative analysis of ethylene production technologies, the minimum CO2 emission is 1.3-1.4 tonnes per
tonne of ethylene for NSC and SSC technologies. At the same time mathematical modelling of the technology of ethylene production
through ethane oxychlorination followed by dehydrochlorination of chloroethane, presented in patent US9169168B2, makes it possible to
prevent the formation of carbon dioxide during chemical transformations.
Patent US 9169168 presents a method of two-stage production of ethylene:
  • First stage
Ethane oxychlorination is carried out in the presence of a catalyst based on copper, lead and alkali metal chlorides at a temperature of 350-400 °C.
  • Second stage
Ethyl chloride cracking (dehydrochlorination) is carried out in the presence of catalysts based on zinc chloride, activated carbon and aluminosilicate. The temperature of the second stage is 325-375 °C.
How we reducing energy costs and CO₂ emissions and make Ethylene Production with maximum value
  • Advantage

The advantage of this method is lower temperatures of the process compared to traditional technologies (not more than 400 ° C), which allows to significantly reduce energy costs. At the same time, the main advantage of this method is that carbon oxides are practically not formed.

  • Byproduct Flexibility:

    Produces valuable chemicals including:
    1,1-dichloroethane
    1,2-dichloroethane

(575.7 kg per ton of ethylene)

    Trichloroethane
  • Value Proposition

Addresses global ethylene deficit Reduces PVC production costs through integrated 1,2 dichloroethaneproduction

Flexible output adjusts to market demands

Ethylene is a major component of the gas and petrochemical industry and is used to produce a wide range of polymeric materials and

organic compounds.

The cost of ethylene currently varies between 700-1000 EUR/t, and its price largely determining the price of a

wide range of chemical products.

Market Relevance
Current price: €700-1000 per ton
2025 production capacity: >200 million tons
  Demand significantly exceeds production.
The global ethylene market is projected to exceed 200 million tons by 2025, with demand outpacing production. Our technology addresses the global ethylene deficit while offering a cost-effective, energy-efficient, and environmentally conscious alternative to conventional ethylene production methods.
Moreover, by varying the oxychlorination process conditions, we can adjust product yields based on market demands, ensuring flexibility and resilience against market fluctuations.
